It was the long cherished desire of the Adoration Sisters of the St. Thomas Province Changanacherry, to start an educational organization with an aim to provide quality education and overall development of the children. The vision came true in 1972 at Morkulangara, the semi-urban township, naturally beautiful, cool and calm down town area. The School is owned and managed by the AKM Charitable Trust and name to the glorious remembrance and memory of Archbishop Mar Mathew Kavukattu, who is remembered as servant of God. The School has grown from its simple beginning gaining blessing from its Patron and the founder of S.A.B.S congregation, Archbishop Mar Thomas Kurialacherry. The School was affiliated to CBSE 1 st stream and attained the status of Senior Secondary School in the CBSE stream. Year on year we grow in strength from Kindergarten to XII level passing out with 100% result.

AKM Public School And Junior College was started in 1972 by the Adoration sisters of St.Thomas Province, Changanacherry under the leadership and Management of the Mother Provincial of the Congregation. The school got affiliated to the CBSE curriculum stream in the year 2004 and upgraded as CBSE higher secondary School in 2013.
